England fast bowler Jofra Archer said he misplaced his World Cup 2019 medal after he shifted his flat recently. Archer, who played a key role in England’s historic triumph, added he has ‘gone mad’ searching for it at his new place.

Jofra Archer revealed he had the World Cup 2019 medal hanging off a portrait and that he was not able to see the medal there after he moved to his new place. The England fast bowler also said he has been looking for the medal over the last week but that he hasn’t found any success yet.

“I had it hanging off a portrait someone did for me and sent to me, I had my medal hanging on that. I moved flat and the picture is on the new wall but there’s no medal,” Jofra Archer told the BBC.

“I turned the house upside down for about a week but I still haven’t managed to find it.

“I know it should be in the house so I will keep eyes out for it but I’ve gone mad looking for it already.”

Never planned for the Super Over in the final: Archer

Jofra Archer shone for England in his maiden World Cup appearance in the Old Blighty last year. Archer intimidated opposition batsmen with his pace and aggression and finished as the third highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 20 wickets.

Jofra Archer was also tasked with the responsibility of bowling the historic Super Over in the World Cup final against New Zealand. Archer held his nerves when 2 runs was needed off the last ball as scores were tied at the end of the Super Over after which England were declared winners based on boundary count.

Archer said he never thought about featuring in a Super Over in a World Cup final but was ready to give his best once he got the opportunity.

“It was the only super over of the whole tournament, I never actually thought about it or planned for the situation, it just happened.”
