Tropical Storm Eta strengthening, forecast to reach hurricane intensity


Tropical Storm Eta is expected to strengthen and is forecast to become a hurricane as it moves over the Florida Keys Sunday night and early Monday. Eta is moving north at 14 mph and has maximum sustained winds of 65 mph. A gradual turn toward the north-northwest is anticipated later today, followed by a northwestward turn by tonight.The storm is expected to pass near or over the Florida Keys tonight or early Monday.A Storm Surge Warning is in effect for the Florida Keys from Ocean Reef to the Dry Tortugas, including Florida Bay.A Storm Surge Watch is in effect for the Florida coast from Golden Beach to Bonita Beach, including Biscayne Bay.
