A lot of people have been applying pressure and calling out the show for the lack of diversity and it seems that now, things are changing.

TSR revealed that Matt was originally cast to appear in the upcoming Clare Crawley season of The Bachelorette.

‘For those who are familiar with the show, he is also known as the business partner and best friend of Tyler Cameron. Karey Burke, the ABC Entertainment President said, “Matt has been on our radar since February, when producers first approached him,” TSR noted.

Someone seemed disappointed and said: ‘The fact that it’s 2020 and we still seeing “first black” in press releases…’ while another follower posted this message: ‘Nah they definitely felt pressured to do so.’

Someone else wrote: ‘And it’s probably gonna have a bunch of white girls on the show. So who cares,’ while another follower said: ‘I have a feeling there’s gonna be plenty of beckys & karens to fetishize him.’

Another follower said: ‘what kind of marketing tactic is this..? 25 seasons until a black man is finally chosen,’ and one other commenter wrote: ‘But will the girls be black or just a season full of white folks like the black bachelorette?’

An Instagrammer said: ‘I hope he doesn’t kiss all them white girls in the mouth 🤦🏾‍♂️ seems like that’s all they do on that show.’
