After backlash from netizens, Deepika Padukone’s conversation with WHO’s Dr Tedros on ‘mental health’ has been put on hold! – Times of India


Bollywood actress and mental health activist Deepika Padukone recently announced that she will be teaming up with Dr Tedros, director-general of World Health Organization (WHO) to discuss the importance of mental health amidst the Coronavirus crises. The live interaction was scheduled for April 23rd at 7 pm IST. However, the actress faced a backlash from her fans the same.

Fans were unhappy with Deepika’s collaboration with Dr Tedros who reportedly gave China a clean chit in January when they stated COVID-19 doesn’t transmit human-to-human.

And now, the actress took to her Instagram to share that her discussion session with Dr Tedros has been put on hold until further notice. Her post read, “I regret to inform you that due to unforeseen and highly unavoidable circumstances the conversation, ‘prioritising menal health during the pandemic and beyond’ between Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General, WHO and I, schedule dor April 23rd, 2020 has been put on hold until further notice.”
